Neighbors Feeding Neighbors

On May 4, our church will be partnering with Trinity Episcopal Church of Wethersfield to participate in a meal
packing event coordinated by The Outreach Program (www.theoutreachprogram.org). Our goal is to pack 10,000
meals in 3 hours–maybe even more! To accomplish this we will need at least 30 volunteers from St Andrew’s, working
from 9 AM -12 PM. You can work for 90 minutes, 2 hours or all 3 hours, or help with set up the night before or
break down when the event is over. We are asking every parishioner to donate just $10.00 toward this cause, which
would allow us to pack a second meal. Your $10 donation pays for approximately 40 meals, so please consider this
small donation. All of the meals will feed our neighbors from Wethersfield, Hartford and Vernon. We call our program
Neighbors Feeding Neighbors since we are addressing hunger in our own ” neighborhood”. Anyone of any age can
participate in this meal packaging, because these are simple jobs performed assembly line style as a team. Please sign
up in the back of the church.

To raise more money for this Neighbors Feeding Neighbors program, we will host a fundraiser meal on Saturday,
April 12 at our church at 6:00. The men’s group will be serving the same meal that we prepare to feed the homeless
for our Church St Eats program in Hartford. You will eat a simple but satisfying meal of macaroni and cheese,
kielbasa, salad, bread, mixed veggies and a brownie for dessert. The cost of this meal will be $10.00 per person,
or $15.00 for a family. Please join us and bring some friends for this worthy cause.

If you have any questions about either event, please see Bill Franklin or Mary Laing.
